Have you experienced the freedom of walking coaching?

Updated: Jun 26, 2020

Have you ever nipped out for a quick walk and instantly felt the releasing power of fresh air, thinking ‘Why don’t I do this more often?’. It’s something we all crave more of it but often don’t have the time, or feel confined to our office, study, workplace, car or home.

Getting outside, even for five minutes hugely helps me feel more relaxed, grounded and alert. Also, it helps my mood. I’m not sure if it’s the way I breathe deeper when I’m outside or being in an open space, and therefore feeling more free, that improves my mindset. But it works. Always.

That’s why I sometimes meet clients and go for a walking / coaching session. While walking and talking we often go places (both geographical and topical) we wouldn’t when sitting face to face. It’s great if you are office based, or have a long commute. It gets you out in the open, to not only focus on your specific issue, but also feels great to be moving - releasing endorphins, breathing deeper, releasing pent up energy and stress.

You’re engaging fresh thinking and new perspectives, you’re taking in views from your surroundings. It is very freeing to ‘drift’ along letting your feet lead the way.

Things I love about walking coaching: 🔶Helps to open your mindset. 🔶It gives you a fresh perspective.

🔶Is known to help overcome blockers to problems you may have been stagnating on. 🔶It increases accountability - You’re more likely to go for a walk, if you’ve agreed to do it with someone. 🔶Gets you out of your comfort zone.

🔶It is relaxed and informal, reducing the intensity of sitting face to face.

🔶You’re exercising while you talk things through - two birds, one stone! I’m exercising without noticing (and getting my steps up!). 🔶The number of benefits of walking and of being in nature are many, and widely documented.

🔶It is fun!

When you’re next out for a walk, look up, look around for a new perspective. If this sounds appealing and you fancy going for a ‘drift’ with me, go get in touch.
