Each month I host a free 'Journaling for well-being' workshop. It's 30 minutes of support and inspiration for your journaling practice. We focus on two techniques:
1 - Wild writing, a free-style journaling method.
2 - Utilising guided prompts around a particular theme.
The theme for the session was 'settling into self-care'.
Taking care of ourselves isn't just about bubble baths and spa days (though those are great!). It's about making sure we're recharged and resilient enough to handle life’s inevitable ups and downs.
When we prioritise self-care, we're better friends, partners, colleagues—basically, better versions of ourselves.
But, it isn’t always that easy. Prioritising self-care is a mindset and many of us haven’t grown up with the knowledge that looking after ourselves is ok. That it’s ok to rest, put ourselves first and say no to others. There are so many barriers that make it tough. Whether it's a jam-packed schedules, guilt over taking time for ourselves, or simply not knowing where to start, it's easy to let everything else take over.
Let’s look inwards and turn to these journaling prompts to help us better understand our relationship with self-care.
What does the term ‘self-care’ mean to you?
What did you learn about prioritising yourself growing up?
How do these lessons help or hinder you now?
In what ways do you think you’re holding yourself back in relation to your self care?
What aspect of self-care would make the greatest, most positive impact on your life?
If you could make one small change to your daily routine, what would it be?
Why not save this post or share with a friend who you think may find these prompts useful.

Next month, my free journaling workshop takes place on 4th November and is focused on the theme of removing the responsibility of people pleasing. You can register here.
Alternatively, you can download my free journaling toolkit to get your started.
