Journaling prompts: protecting your peace

Each month I host a free 'Journaling for well-being' workshop. It's 30 minutes of support and inspiration for your journaling practice. We focus on two techniques:

1 - Wild writing, a free-style journaling method.

2 - Utilising guided prompts around a particular theme.

The theme for the session was 'protecting your peace'.

Many of us spend our time protecting other things: our diary, our reputation, our productivity, other people's feelings. Yet our own peace is often left until last. We tell ourselves we'll slow down once this busy period is over, we'll rest when everything is done, or we'll prioritise ourselves once everyone else is okay.

But peace isn't something we stumble across when life becomes quieter. It's something we intentionally create.

Peace is about recognising what helps you feel calm, grounded and connected to yourself. And when we connect back to ourselves, we are grounded in confidence and self-trust.

When we protect our peace, we aren't becoming selfish. We're creating the emotional space to be more present, more patient and more resilient in every area of our lives.

As you continue reflecting this month, remember that peace is a practice.

  • What does protecting my peace mean to me right now?

  • What people, places, habits or routines help me feel calm, grounded and most like myself?

  • What has been disrupting my peace lately, and what part of that is within my control?

  • If I truly believed my well-being mattered, what boundary would I set or honour this week?

  • Imagine it's six months from now and you've become someone who protects their peace with confidence and compassion. What has changed, and what small step could you take today to become that person?

Next month, my free journaling workshop takes place on Monday 7th September and is focused on the theme of aligning your values. You can register here.

Alternatively, you can download my free journaling toolkit to get your started.
