Journaling prompts: cultivating everyday joy

  • Apr 6
  • 2 min read

Each month I host a free 'Journaling for well-being' workshop. It's 30 minutes of support and inspiration for your journaling practice. We focus on two techniques:

1 - Wild writing, a free-style journaling method.

2 - Utilising guided prompts around a particular theme.

The theme for the session was 'cultivating everyday joy'.

The theme of today’s journaling workshop and what a beautiful reminder that joy isn’t something we have to chase or achieve, but something we can notice, welcome, and create space for, even in the smallest of moments.

Together we explored the small things that lift us, the things that make us feel most alive, and how lightness can exist alongside the everyday responsibilities of life. Joy doesn’t have to be loud or extraordinary; often it’s quiet, simple, and already present.

Try these prompts:

  • What does joyful rest look like for me?

  • How can I celebrate small wins more often?

  • What environments help me feel most alive?

  • What brings laughter into my life, and how can I welcome more of it?

  • How do I want to feel when I wake up in the morning? What supports that feeling?

  • What does joy look like when shared with others?

As you move into the days ahead, consider this your invitation to keep noticing what feels good, what feels meaningful, and what brings even a spark of brightness to your day.

Thank you for bringing your reflections, openness, and energy to this shared space.

What’s one small thing that has brought you joy recently?

And remember, you can join this free journaling community each month on the first Monday of the month.

Next month, my free journaling workshop takes place on 4th May and is focused on the theme of nurturing self-compassion. You can register here.

Alternatively, you can download my free journaling toolkit to get your started.
